Move over wedding invitations and college degrees.
Calligraphy as art - some of which is the work of four women from the Northwest suburbs - is on display at Chicago's Newberry Library.
Rosie Kelly of Hoffman Estates, Mary Zabrin of Arlington Heights, Genevieve Dunlop of Palatine and Lisa Kivland of Schaumburg are four of 40 artists in the Chicago Calligraphy Collective's 16th annual juried exhibition until April 6 at the library, located at 60 W. Walton Street.
The show, called Exploration 2002, includes traditional calligraphy on paper as well as experimental lettering works.
