FORT BENNING, Ga. _ There are no clear answers on what impact the modernization of the Army is going to have on Fort Benning. But one thing is certain, those familiar with the state's military installations say, everything is open to change and there are no safe bets, including at the Home of the Infantry.
"This is hard-ball politics at the highest level," said Mike Gaymon, president of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce. "Certainly Fort Benning is being looked at for change."
