LAKELAND, Fla. _ Tigers third baseman Dean Palmer said Friday that he "totally overreacted" when he stormed out of a minor league game Thursday.
After making a bad throw to first base, Palmer left the game after the eighth inning. The throw was his second of the day, and the two throws were his first in a game in 1 { years, since the end of the 2000 season.
Palmer said he was distressed to find that although he could throw without pain, his surgically repaired shoulder remained too weak for some throws a third baseman must make.
