DALLAS _ To secure every advantage against clay court-loving Spain, the United States Tennis Association searched the country to find grass courts for its quarterfinal Davis Cup match beginning Friday.
The USTA looked in Florida and California before picking the Westside Tennis Club in Houston. Now, U.S. captain Patrick McEnroe is hoping the surface and the atmosphere of Davis Cup will be enough to get the King of Grass fired up.
Pete Sampras is expected to headline the U.S. team's two singles matches on Friday. But if Sampras' last loss is any indication, his success on grass isn't necessarily a sure thing, even with Spain's No. 1 player, Juan Carlos ...
