ARCHIVES chronicling the history of Merseyside's Jewish community are to be made available to the public for the first time.
Liverpool has one of the oldest Jewish communities in Britain, dating back almost three centuries.
The documents catalogue events from the construction of the city's first synagogue, in Princes Street in the Temple area of the city centre, through to accounts of how the Jewish community looked after refugees during World War II.
The decision to make public the documents follows the announcement of a Lottery grant to help preserve the archive.
