The acquisition further strengthens Netopia's differentiated technology portfolio that allows carriers and service providers to bring quickly to market an array of profitable, highly sought-after broadband services.

The transaction, structured as an asset purchase, closed on March 29, 2002. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
