Apr. 2--New Mexico is not one of the best places for e-commerce.
In fact, a study called "The Best States for E-Commerce" shows New Mexico finishing near the bottom of the rankings, coming in ahead of only South Carolina in the report from the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington, D.C.
Oregon, Utah and Indiana finished at the top of the list.
New Mexico's low rating may be of concern to some, but the chairman of the state's Information Technology Commission said too much e-commerce hurts the state's small businesses in many small towns.
