Fortuitously after last month's column about Martin Goldsmith's memoir, The Inextinguishable Symphony, BBC Music Magazine's May 2001 issue includes perfectly lovely live recordings of an ambitious pairing, Carl Nielsen's Clarinet Concerto and Symphony No. 4 both performed at St. David's Hall in Cardiff on February 17th and 19th respectively in 1999.
