Ford could use a Bob Lutz-style corporate product czar - and talk inside the company is that the job may go to Wolfgang Reitzle.
The 70-year-old Lutz joined General Motors last autumn and immediately generated enthusiasm for GM's products. Meanwhile, Ford in North America faces a shortage of products in the pipeline. Sources say the excitement surrounding Lutz has Ford looking for its own charismatic car guy. Reitzle, the 53-year-old head of Ford's five luxury brands, is the most likely candidate.
