BRITISH AIRWAYS today declared war on its low-fare rivals - and also the major rail companies - with huge fare cuts around the country.
BA is promising cuts of up to 70 per cent with new year-round return fares starting from [pound]69 to Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow from Heathrow and Gatwick.
Currently, BA's cheaper return flights to Manchester require advance purchase and a Saturday night stay and will still cost you [pound]233. Similarly, current deals to Newcastle demand the weekend overnight stay and five-day prior booking for a [pound]179 fare.
