SYDNEY, April 3 Asia Pulse - The Greens said that a planned rally to stop charcoal operations and woodchipping in NSW forests would put the spotlight back on the environment in the lead-up to the 2003 state election.
Greens MP Lee Rhiannon said the major forests rally planned for the Sydney CBD this weekend would put both major parties on notice that conservation will be an issue in the lead up to the March state election.
"Conservation will become an election issue because the underlying problems have only got worse," Ms Rhiannon said.
