Cris Carter's pursuit of a television job continued Tuesday when the wide receiver auditioned with Fox production officials for a studio role on its NFL coverage, according to an industry source.

A Fox official refused to comment on the subject, but Fox's pregame show could have an opening if Cris Collinsworth makes the expected jump from the studio to the network's top NFL announcing team to replace John Madden.

Fox Sports Net also has openings for its pregame show. Boomer Esiason left to join the CBS studio crew and comedian Jay Mohr has joined ESPN.
