The name of Madison's oldest bank will change officially to U.S. Bancorp on May 3, but Firstar officials want the public to know that the name is the only thing that's changing now.
Firstar Corp. acquired U.S. Bancorp of Minneapolis in February 2001 in a $22.5 billion purchase that made the combined bank the ninth-largest financial holding company in the United States.
Since then, the new company has been integrating services and products at banks from Tennessee to California.
