How they got here
The Black Bears began the season with a 3-4-2 record but went 21-6-5 after that. They shared second place in Hockey East (behind New Hampshire) with Boston University, and beat BU in the East Regional to win a spot in the Frozen Four.
Tournament history
This is Maine's 12th appearance in the NCAA field and fourth in a row. The Bears won titles in 1993 and 1999. Their overall NCAA tournament record is 22-13.
