MAIL BOXES ETC. AND WESTERN UNION SIGN AGREEMENT
SAN DIEGO, May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Mail Boxes Etc. (NASDAQ: MAIL) (MBE) announced today that it has signed a two-year agreement with money transfer giant, Western Union Financial Services Inc., whereby MBE's 1,200-plus franchise locations in 44 states can become Western Union (NYSE: WU) money transfer agents. Since MBE is opening new centers at the rate of one per business day, Western Union will look to the MBE network to help broaden its agency location coverage.
MBE is the nation's largest franchisor of postal, business and communication services and anticipates 2,500 MBE franchise locations by 1995.
