PLEASANT RIDGE -- Pleasant Ridge Store is an unexpected treasure, the kind of place that defies stereotypes.
Yes, it is on a ridge northeast of Governor Dodge State Park, and the 10-mile views of the rolling countryside are certainly pleasant. But it's not a store anymore, even though its ramshackle exterior hasn't changed much in the past 94 years.
