Apr. 8--The long-awaited Asian Highway has come one step closer to reality with an agreement signed on Saturday to complete the missing links of a major road that will connect Thailand, Burma and India for the first time since World War II.
The road will run from Mae Sot in Thailand, turn north to Pagan in Burma and join up with Moreh, a small border town in the east Indian state of Manipur, a distance of roughly 1,500 kilometres.
