PARIS-(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 2002--Otis Elevator Company has been awarded contracts valued at 11.5 million euro (US$10.3 million) to modernize elevator systems in three high-rise office towers in the prestigious La Defense business district in Paris. Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX)
La Defense, the first area of a major European city designed and dedicated to business and commerce, is home to 1,500 companies in Paris employing more than 150,000 people.
