SAN JOSE - Foundry Networks and Nortel are releasing new versions of their Web switch software that could help businesses use Layer 4-Layer 7 switches for security, network device consolidation and traffic management, in addition to server load balancing and Web content switching.
Foundry this week will release security and quality-of-service features in Version 8.0R of its ServerIron OS software, which runs the ServerIron 400 and 800 line of Layer 4-Layer 7 switches.
