A question-and-answer item on A-5 of Wednesday's Post-Standard gave the impression that former Cayuga County Sheriff Peter J. Pinckney was sentenced to spend 60 days in jail along with a three-year prison term that would be suspended as long as Pinckney followed a set of conditions. The proposed sentence actually included the 60 days, and a three-year conditional discharge, under which the sentencing judge could reevaluate the sentence and impose a prison term if Pinckney violated one of the conditions.
