Carolly Erickson, author of several other historic biographies including 'The First Elizabeth' sets out to chronicle the life of Mary Tudor.

Erickson tells the story of 'Bloody Mary' perhaps England's most unrecognised Queen. The majority of this large book is taken up with her life before her coronation. Also the book seems to centre more on the people she knew rather than Mary Tudor herself.
