Erickson tells the story of 'Bloody Mary' perhaps England's most unrecognised Queen. The majority of this large book is taken up with her life before her coronation. Also the book seems to centre more on the people she knew rather than Mary Tudor herself.
The author seems to have a great deal of sympathy for her subject and paints her as a misunderstood and put-upon queen who did her best with her time on the throne and was not the bloodthirsty and ...
