AMID the sombre grandeur of history and the caskets of long dead kings and queens, they were the words which brought the most human perspective to the Queen Mother's tomb yesterday.
'Dear Gran Gran,' said the handwritten card pinned to the neat little cushion of pale roses in the Clipsham stone King George VI chapel at Windsor Castle. 'With much love and affection for ever. Wills and Harry.'
Alongside the flowers, which were laid just behind the black marble ledger stone covering the entrance to the tomb, other wreaths had been left by her grandson Viscount Linley and his wife Serena.
