Lesbians haven't been particularly well represented on Madison stages during the last several years. Too often, they're minor characters rather than protagonists, playing second fiddle in plays about gay men ("The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told" and "Falsettos").
Sometimes characters are presented who may be lesbians, although it's not altogether certain. Were the two young women in "Stop Kiss" lesbians? Or were they just experimenting? And what shall we say about the women who falls in love with a transgendered woman in "Eugenia?"
And whether you're Irish or lesbian (or both), you probably wouldn't ...
