Eric Weisbard, senior program director in the Education Department at the Experience Music Project, begs to differ.
Weisbard, a prolific rock critic who has written for The Village Voice, Spin, Rolling Stone and other magazines, is the organizer of EMP's first Pop Music Studies Conference, a four-day gathering of writers, academics and musicians with more than a casual interest in popular music. The conference opens today at EMP and continues through Sunday.
