BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 12, 2002

Comedian and actress Ellen DeGeneres has signed a deal to host an hour-long, syndicated talk/variety strip beginning in fall 2003, it was announced today by Dick Robertson, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, and Jim Paratore, who serves as both Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and President, Telepictures Productions.

DeGeneres' availability to do the new series is contingent on CBS' decision about the future of "The Ellen Show," which is expected in the next few weeks.
