HIGHWAY PATROL LABELS DUI VANS "HUGE SUCCESS"

COLUMBIA, S.C., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- After one year in operation, the South Carolina Highway Patrol on Tuesday called its DUI Van program "a huge success."

Since the debut of the two vans last June, the DUI Vans team has accounted for 6,791 total cases including ... 1,316 DUI arrests ... 1,351 arrests for possession of illegal alcohol and open container violations ... 77 drug arrests. In addition, the team has also made 4,047 arrests for reckless driving, speeding, driving under suspension and other traffic violations.
