Eric J. Parsons, accused of setting a Nov. 5 fire in Romulus that killed his wife, Cheryl, and their four children, will not face the death penalty.
A Seneca County grand jury returned an indictment against the 26-year-old Lodi man, charging him with five counts of second-degree murder, and five counts of first-degree arson.
Parsons was arraigned on the charges Friday morning in Seneca County Court, entering an innocent plea to all counts. It would have taken a first-degree murder charge to be considered a death-penalty case.
