TOUGH guy actor Stuart Dunne has revealed he is a big softy in real life - by writing a play about troubled artist Vincent van Gogh.
The 44-year-old star, who played notorious gangster Billy Meehan in Fair City, says he is obsessed with the Dutch genius who killed himself in 1890 aged just 37.
Stuart became so infatuated with the legend while doing research that he even took up painting himself.
Now he hopes to star in his own play about van Gogh and bring it round Ireland.
