Charles Stonehill, head of investment banking in the Americas for Credit Suisse First Boston, became the latest top banker to exit that firm. He will not be replaced. Instead, his duties will be shared by Adebayo Ogunlesi, global head of investment banking, and a group of senior bankers. Ogunlesi, who assumed his new post in February, earlier this month announced the firing of 300 bankers, including 50 managing directors, reducing CSFB's payroll to the level it was prior to its acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in November 2000.
