CANTON -- Health Management Associates Inc. (NYSE: HMA) has executed a definitive agreement to acquire Madison County Medical Center (MCMCO in Canton. The transaction will be completed pending the Mississippi State Department of Health's (MSDH's) approval of a certificate of need (CON) being filed immediately by the Madison County Board of Supervisors.
The mutual agreement calls for HMA to lease the hospital and relocate its services to the company's now dormant Ridgewood Road facility.
