Article: What's in a name? (The First Words ...).(Sing Out!)(Brief Article)(Editorial)

One of the first big arguments that Pete Seeger and I had when we were working to revive Sing Out! back in 1983 had to do with our long-running subtitle: "The Folk Song Magazine." I hope Pete won't mind too much if I paraphrase his position. He was concerned on two fronts: First, he was bothered by the "The" which he felt discounted the other fine magazines which also champion some of the very same music and artists at the core of our mission.
