SUN PRAIRIE -- Maybe a warm afternoon is all the Sun Prairie prep baseball team needed to get their bats heated up.
Lagging behind the Cardinals' pitching and defense during the young season, the hitters entered Monday's game against Madison La Follette averaging 4.4 runs over the first five games.
They quickly increased their average. With temperatures in the 80s, Nick Raether and Adam Billings each drove in three runs and the Cardinals pounded out 10 hits in a 12-5 Big Eight Conference victory over the Lancers at Ashley Field.
