Apr. 15--A tough investment market and Sept. 11 couldn't keep Mayo Foundation from setting records in various sectors of its business during 2001.
Income from patient care -- buoyed by $3.4 billion in patient care revenues -- totaled a record $115.3 million, up $24.1 million from 2000.
Mayo Foundation also recorded one of its best years for philanthropy, taking in gross contributions of $146.3 million in 2001.
