Sir, - I was shocked at your publication under the name C Khamis (Post, Apr 13) of a letter about Israel which can only be described as an encyclopedia of lies.
Israel has been subject to continual terrorist attacks since its foundation in 1948. Note that in the Gulf War, in which Israel played no part, it was subject to scud attacks by Saddam Hussein. Furthermore, the Israelis have as much right to describe themselves as Palestinians, if they so wish, as the Arab residents of Samaria, Judea and Gaza.
