COLUMBUS, Ga. _ An original copy of the Declaration of Independence will be on display in Plains, Ga., for a one-day public viewing on April 24.
The copy is one of 25 known to exist of the 200 original "Dunlap Broadsides" produced by John Dunlap, a Philadelphia printer, on July 4, 1776. It was discovered by a shopper folded up behind a painting he bought for $4 at a flea market in 1989. It was authenticated by Sotheby's and an independent expert, and sold in 2000 to present owners, television executive Norman Lear , the , and his wife, Lyn, for $8.14 million.
