Russia TV on 9 April broadcast an interview with Russian ultranationalist and State Duma deputy speaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky regarding Iraq. Zhirinovsky denied that he had any personal financial interest in Iraq. "The only thing I have is this carpet with Saddam Husseyn's picture which was given to me as a gift during one of my trips to Baghdad, and a book devoted to the Iraqi leader which was published in Russia," Zhirinovsky said.
