Apr. 21--The long-term-care community is preparing for this week's release of controversial federal data that make this state's nursing homes, as a group, look a little worse on some measures than homes in five other states.

That's not necessarily the case.

Tension is growing over the accuracy of the measures and the validity of comparing the six pilot states. Many local experts doubt most consumers will be able to understand the information or find it valuable.
