A piece of inaccurate information that has been cycled and recycled around the Bruins holds that Martin Lapointe, Bill Guerin and Brian Rolston are the only B's who've played on Stanley Cup-winning teams. In truth, there is a fourth: winger Mike Knuble.
The winger is remembered as a former member of the New York Rangers, from whom he was acquired for Rob DiMaio last season. But Knuble began his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings, and was part of the club that won the Stanley Cup in 1998.
Knuble played three games for the Wings during the playoffs, which led to his name being engraved on the Cup.
