The US Southeast is proving fertile ground for the gas industry, as waves of infrastructure -- from power plants to new pipelines -- start operations over the next few years. Demand looks so strong, in fact, that producers might not be able to keep pace with their market.
Supply could be the wrench in what otherwise is shaping into a stellar regional growth story for the industry. Several speakers at The LDC Forum conference in Atlanta, Georgia, last week expressed concern that demand could rise too far, too fast for Gulf Coast producers to handle.
