MOTORISTS are facing further frustration as traffic calming measures turn the approaches to Trafalgar Square into a construction site.
Drivers are forced from one set of road narrowing schemes and lane closures to the next amid a huge line of cones preventing left or right turns. The epicentre of the chaos is the area around St Martin's Place - now closed to traffic.
While Mayor Ken Livingstone's determination to turn Trafalgar Square into a traffic-free zone - closing the road which joins it to the National Portrait Gallery - is supported by some, it is causing a daily nightmare for others.
