Another season of transition likely is in store for bilingual students from the Piper Lane area of Prospect Heights.

School board members from Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 came to an informal decision for boundary changes Thursday night that would transfer 170 Whitman Elementary School bilingual students from Piper Lane to Twain Elementary School next year. The board will take a formal vote on the boundary changes May 16.

The decision came after months of deliberation by the board in an effort to relieve crowding at Whitman, which has more than 800 students.
