The British Franchise Association (BFA) has had an arbitration scheme for more than 10 years, which has been largely ignored by franchisors and franchisees alike. Only three references had been made to the scheme during its existence, but the BFA believes as part of its role to ensure fair play between franchisors and franchisees, that dispute resolution procedures which are fair, efficient, fast, easy to understand and a good value must be made available.
