CORRECTION PUBLISHED 04/25/02: This article incorrectly said the Krispy Kreme store in Maple Grove is the company's first in Minnesota. A Krispy Kreme operated in Richfield from the mid-1950s to the early 1970s.
Dan Johnson, wearing a green velour bathrobe over his clothes, and Laura Burkland, dripping with carnival beads, drove their blue Durango, festooned with streamers and balloons, into the Krispy Kreme parking lot Monday night and waited.
