Education Secretary Estelle Morris today announced a new package of measures to crack down on truancy and bad behaviour. Schools facing the toughest challenges will be supported with extra resources from this summer.
The GBP66 million package will include: - new or expanded learning support units, additional places where needed, and extra staffing or training as appropriate; - electronic registration systems to make sure truancy is picked up so action can be taken; - intensive truancy sweeps supported by ...
