For its 175th anniversary, Clay gave itself a town hall.
More than 150 people, many of them current and former town officials and employees, attended an hour-long dedication April 16 that marked the beginning of the town hall project and 175th anniversary of the town's founding.
The town hall dedication was the first in a series of events that will honor the town's founding on April 16, 1827.
Surrounded by orange tape, marking the perimeter of the planned building, Clay Supervisor Patrick DiDomenico led the 45-minute ceremony which featured several speakers who recalled the town's history.
