[laguna niguel, calif.] In a colorful, bluntly spoken and well-gesticulated outgoing address as board chairman, Brendan Ryan told attendees at American Association of Advertising Agencies' Management Conference that people in the business need to have more self-respect.
Mr. Ryan, CEO of Interpublic Group of Cos.' Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide, said respect for the industry is dwindling among the public, clients and agency executives themselves.
``If you don't value what you get for your ad agencies, then you probably don't respect them very much,'' he said of clients.
