Lauren Watson stretched back in the cushioned armchair, his hair and beard mingled gray.
Around his neck he wore a small African leather bag for good luck, given to him by his son who lives in Ghana.
In the 1960s, before the gray began taking hold in Watson's hair, he founded Denver's chapter of the Black Panthers, a political movement that struck fear in the heart of white America in a way nothing has since.
Watson is a little sad that prior commitments prevent him from joining his fellow Black Panther Party members who are gathering through Saturday at the University of the District of Columbia ...
