PRICES FOR fish oil worldwide are gaining in the wake of lower catches in the major producing countries, which have greatly reduced stocks for fish byproducts, fish meal and fish oil. Premium prices over soybean oil have risen in the past three months and have reached up to $600 per ton to $620 per ton in Northwest Europe. In the US, crude fish oil is currently selling for 22 cents per pound.
