Apr. 27--Already facing opposition from some competitors and airports about combining the operations of its two rental-car brands, ANC Rental Corp. is heading into a battle with its National Car Rental franchisees.
Fort Lauderdale-based ANC, National and Alamo Rent A Car's parent company, wants bankruptcy court approval to cancel a 1997 settlement agreement with the franchisees. That settlement arose after a lawsuit filed by National franchisees over how much they should pay ANC.
