Hank Williams Jr. has spent most of his life living in his father's legendary shadow. He started as a young boy covering only Hank Williams Sr. songs. Even when he became a star in his own right in the 1980s, he still made frequent references to the father he hardly knew.

On "Almeria Club," his first album of new material since 1999's "Stormy," he drops some of his rowdy image to attempt a more serious album based in part on his dad's image. Unfortunately, this fails in execution.
